QTLS has come a long way so much so that as of 2012, the government mandated that all holders of QTLS will receive the same salary as holders of QTS. In addition, QTLS holders can now teach in primary and secondary schools and post-16 as well.

As opposed to completing a PGCE for example where you leave as an NQT (Newly Qualified Teacher) which is not QTS status, you enter the professional full qualified with a QTLS after the successful completion of your diploma in Education and Training and Professional Formations with the Foundation in Education and Training.
