SCCD is pleased to announce that we have received an excellent report on the latest inspection visit by established awarding body Pearson.
We maintained Direct Claims Status for our DET programme and moderator David was especially impressed by the resources and environment of our brand new premises in Camberwell, as well as the course organisation and dedicated student support from tutors.
Here is a selection of comments from the recent report:
SCCD is a well-established private college and, since the SV 2015/16 visit, have moved to new, self-contained premises in Camberwell, South East London. They continue to deliver a number of teacher education qualifications, including the Level 5 Diploma in Education (DET) and the NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
The Lead IQA and the newly appointed IQA are sharing the internal verification workload. All are very well qualified and experienced in the field of education and training and, in the case of the assessor and Lead IQA, also hold the relevant assessor and IQA qualifications
Once on programme the learners receive an initial induction. This includes an initial assessment of their maths and English. SCCD find the learners a suitable placement in a School, Sixth Form College, Further Education College, Special School or Pupil Referral Unit, where they can undertake the 100 hours teaching that they need to complete their DET programme. The `Student Affairs Team’ can provide the learners with a wide range of support mechanisms of both a course specific and personal nature.
